Byce & Associates, Inc. is providing professional Site Planning, Architectural, Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services for the new Seven Point Supply Production Facility in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This project will be developed in phases, with the first phase including a 20,000 square foot headhouse. Site Master Planning for future phase developments has applied decision consideration to doubling building coverage for related site features and accommodations. Future phases may include an addition to the headhouse and additional greenhouse spaces.
The function of the headhouse will be to provide an incubator space for the plants in the early growth stage along with the operational needs for the facility. This building is to include four grow rooms, a vegetation room, trim room, three dry rooms, a secure storage room, office space, a pump room, and restrooms.
This facility will consist of a pre-engineered metal building with a standing seam roof, metal siding, and metal liner wall panels. Concrete masonry walls will be used around the pump room, locker rooms, secure storage space, and dry rooms. In addition, 10′ high masonry walls will surround the facility for security purposes.
Mechanically, odor mitigation for the headhouse will be controlled by use of Carbon Filters and Ozone Generators. Greenhouse odors will be controlled by use of organic essential oils infused in the exhaust system. Precise temperature and humidity control were essential in the design of the building.
