Design Program:
Byce & Associates, Inc. provided Architectural and Engineering Services for the Office Expansion and Renovation at the Sekisui Voltek Office in Coldwater, Michigan. It was necessary to expand the Coldwater facility due to the closure of a different Sekisui Voltek facility, which resulted in the transfer of numerous employees to one shared location. To accommodate the increased number of staff in one space, the Coldwater facility was renovated and expanded. The design of the addition and renovation created an open atmosphere that fostered employee interaction and enhanced productivity.
Additional space was essential in the creation of a facility centered on collaboration and interaction. The new addition extends west and includes private offices, open offices, a restroom block, and various meeting rooms for collaborative work. The private offices have glass fronts to allow natural light to penetrate to the core of the addition.
The project engineering office has also been reconstructed to provide a new quality control office and lab space that includes numerous workstations with laboratory style countertops. A large amount of equipment was installed in this lab space, which required various utilities, including compressed air, water, power, and sanitary drains.
