Various Improvement Projects
Design Program: Kalamazoo County Parks and Recreation Department required upgrades to their River Oaks County Park. The upgrades included the design, engineering and construction of a Splash Pad Play Area, Playground Area, a New Picnic Pavilion, a network of pathways, and two new parking spots.
The splash play area system uses existing municipal water, utilizing a pass through system and utilizing runoff water for possible irrigation. The playground equipment required timber landscape edging, wood fiber mulch finish, and stone sub-base and drainage measures. The picnic shelter is 40’ x 60’ with prefabricated wood trusses glue-lam beams, and solid timber posts.
