Locker Room Renovations

Design Program:

As part of the arrival of new Head Football Coach, P.J. Fleck, a complete renovation of the Football Locker Room was proposed. The renovations and upgrades were intended to not only improve the existing facilities and how they function but also to strengthen and enhance the Bronco brand.

The scope of the project included Architectural, Interiors, Mechanical and Electrical renovations as well as services and equipment provided by design consultants, most notably for the graphic design and branding packages, and vendors contracted directly by WMU whose equipment and materials were coordinated and interfaced with as part of our overall project services.

The Locker Room area of 3,834 square feet was renovated and updated by removing the existing lockers, existing flooring and finishes. The design team worked through multiple room configurations to pinpoint the optimal locker layout to meet aesthetic and functional requirements. The refined design worked in unison with custom graphics and features that addressed specific needs of the University.  New finishes, lighting, and high end customized wood lockers totally changed the feeling within the space, giving a “man cave” feel with dark laminate and graphic treatments.

Renovations have been considered a success as current WMU players and recruits are enthusiastic about the new Locker Room and specifically the lockers, which include cushioned seats, USB chargers, electrical outlets, drying racks, and fans.
