Awarded TWO Green Globes Rating by the Green Building Initiative
Byce & Associates, Inc. working with our Design Build partner AVB, for Newell Rubbermaid, have achieved a rating of Two Green Globes (www.greenglobes.com) for Newell Rubbermaid’s 40,000-square-foot Design Center built with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind. The sustainable features of the state-of-the-art facility housing approximately 100 design professionals contributed to achieving the Two Green Globes rating, based on the Green Globes NC rating scale, which “demonstrates excellent progress in the reduction of environmental impacts and use of environmental efficiency practices.” This achievement is a reflection of the design and construction of this facility’s efficient use of energy and resources, including energy-efficient building systems, ambient daylighting to greater than 80 percent of workspaces, high performing heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to maximize indoor air quality and water conservation through the use of Technical Concepts low-flow flush meters and faucets.
